LOS ANGELES, July 101– Teen sensation Lamine Yamal insisted Spain’s World Cup ambitions outweigh his personal scoring record after their thrilling 2-1 quarter-final win over Belgium. The 18-year-old, who has just one goal this tournament, said: “If we win the World Cup, no one will remember whether I scored.”

Yamal, who turns 19 before the semi-final, stressed his movements create space for teammates. Spain will now face France, led by Golden Boot contender Kylian Mbappé, in Arlington. Yamal previously scored only once during Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph, but believes his contribution goes beyond goals as La Roja chase glory.
