A 10-year-old Year 4 pupil, Fahmi Hafiz Fakhruddin, has died after choking on a gummy candy he bought outside his school, SK Sungai Dua in Butterworth. He collapsed after struggling to breathe and was rushed to Penang Hospital, where he passed away at 11 PM. Doctors said prolonged oxygen deprivation had affected his brain. His funeral will be held tomorrow morning, according to his aunt, Siti Farhani Fikri.
