Nurse penniless after scam
The suspect asked the victim to lend him money to buy an airplane ticket to Malaysia as his mother was sick, and promised to return the money and marry her after he returned to Malaysia. The victim then lent him RM300, and the suspect informed her that he would transfer RM134,000 to her for wedding expenses.
The suspect also asked the victim to make several payments for tax releases. The victim made seven transactions totaling RM8,820 to the same bank account but found no RM134,000 transferred to her account as promised. Police advise the public to be cautious and avoid falling for similar scams.
