The popular statesman abroad joined the congregation at the back, seated on a folding chair like other worshippers. Alas, there was no customary red carpet or official reception. Notably, the ex-PM was surrounded primarily by foreign worshippers, with no prominent leaders in sight.

In contrast, a select few distinguished individuals, including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, were granted special seating in the front row.
