Plastic production cut

The plan includes mandatory reporting of statistical data on plastic imports, and exports. Plastic production has skyrocketed from 2 million tonnes in 1950 to 348 million tonnes in 2017, with projections indicating a doubling in capacity by 2040. Plastic pollution poses a severe threat to marine ecosystems, and its production contributes significantly to climate change.
