34½ years jail
The 44-year-old man was sentenced to 34½ years in jail and 12 strokes of the cane for culpable homicide, child abuse, and evidence tampering. Originally charged with murder for his daughter’s death, he pleaded guilty to reduced charges. The High Court lifted the gag order to remember the victim.
