This is a map listing several food banks across the country. It is shared on WhatsApp and we are publishing it here for our readers.
It updated periodically, showing food banks at some petrol stations.
The message on WhatsApp says: “Share to those who may need help from food banks.”

The campaign in Malay says:
Ambil jika perlu, Sumbang jika mampu. It comes with the following hashtags: #kitatolongkita #foodbank #benderaputih
The food banks are filled by residents in the area surrounding the petrol stations. People are told to take what they need, leave the rest to others.
They are also told to fill the ‘food banks’ with useful products for the needy.
OPS BANTU
On the other hand, the Home Ministry launched Op Bantu today. The aim is to help individuals facing food shortages during emergency movement control order in the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin says all district police headquarters in the country will serve as food aid distribution centres.
“On the field, Op Bantu will be led by 157 district police chiefs and involve the Aman Wanita (Amanita) squad under the Royal Malaysia Police as well as the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) at the district level who are assigned to deliver immediate assistance.
“Rela members on the ground are also assigned to conduct patrols to obtain information for the purpose of channelling aid to any individual who needs immediate help,” he says at a media conference in Kuala Lumpur.
