Kuala Lumpur: “Negative..all MPs who made the screening on Thursday were negative on 26 July,” says Mujahid Yusof Rawa@mujahidrawa.

In a Twitter post today, he says on July 26, 1,925 tests were done and 53 or 2.8% were found positive. But the Parliament was allowed to sit.

But on July 29, 1,183 screening 11+ve = 0.9% Parliament closes on August 2!

Mujahid served as the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Religious Affairs in the Pakatan Harapan administration under former PM Mahathir Mohamad.

He also says the World Health Organisation threshold or baseline for positive rate is 5%. He means to say with 0.9% positive, the Parliament should be allowed to go on.

He says bravo to health DG Hisham Noor for advising the Speaker of the house.

“July 26, 1,925 screening 53+ve = 2.8% Parliament convenes, 29 July, 1,183 screening 11+ve = 0.9% Parliament closes 2nd August!

“WHO threshold rate +ve 5%. Wise DG Noor Hisham Abdullah. Bravo!”
