Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will visit three flood relief centres in Kedah on Saturday (Sept 21). The centres, housing 1,349 evacuees, are at Stadium Sultan Abdul Halim, SMK Agama Kedah, and SK Titi Gajah. Statewide, 7,494 evacuees are in 42 centres. Deputy PM Zahid confirmed the visit.

The PM then states in a speech that he is the one that will be assessing the damage, but the leaders of said state are not there. Opposition supporters were upset at the PM’s statement but government supporters were quick to defend him.
Some users found his speech to be inappropriate, but netizens responded that he actually meant that those running the state should have the first initiative rather than the Prime Minister himself.
