IPOH, March 15, 2025 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged politicians not to steal public money and hide it in homes, speaking at the Madani Breaking of Fast event in Perak last night. Forgoing his salary to set an example, Anwar declared, “Being Prime Minister isn’t about enriching yourself—that cannot happen.” He rejected revenge claims, emphasizing his duty to protect public funds. His remarks coincide with the MACC’s probe into former PM Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who faces scrutiny over RM700 million allegedly misused during his 2021-2022 tenure, with RM170 million in cash and gold seized recently.
