ATM to Expand Cash Waqf Initiative Nationwide by 2030

The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) plans to expand its cash waqf initiative nationwide, including Sabah and Sarawak, by 2030. ATM Islamic Religious Affairs Division director-general Major General Datuk Mohd Rashidi Bujal said Pahang is serving as the pilot state before the programme is gradually introduced at camps and security units across the country. 

ATM Plans Nationwide Cash Waqf Expansion by 2030

The initiative was launched in Pahang through a collaboration between ATM, Pusat Kutipan Zakat dan Wakaf Pahang and the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council.

Mohd Rashidi said the programme expands ATM’s existing efforts to encourage zakat participation while introducing cash waqf among officers and personnel. 

Pahang is targeting 2,000 new cash waqf contributors among Muslim ATM personnel during the final three months of 2026. The target covers around 8,150 Muslim personnel from 31 units in the state.

Organisers aim to promote the initiative through existing spiritual programmes, with the longer-term plan to extend participation across ATM facilities nationwide by 2030.
