For those that lived in Kuala Lumpur in the 1990s may remember the ever so famous pink bas mini. It was meant to serve routes that were underserved, or too small for conventional buses. However, times have changed and for decades now, it was thought that MRTs, LRTs and current bus routes are enough.
Bas mini making a comeback?
It seems that representatives from Petaling Jaya came to the ministry requesting for a service like this. However, the Minister of Transport states that the Petaling Jaya municipality should not fully rely on the government when it comes to operational costs.
Another unpopular opinion is to bring shuttle vans for those living in low density areas in order for them to connect to the main transportation systems. However, netizens are stating that these are a step back and we should stick to bas mini as the smallest options for these areas.
