A nine-year-old boy was killed while two others suffered severe burns after a fire destroyed a double-storey house in Taman Sentosa Indah, Sri Aman, early today. According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, seven people were inside the house when the blaze broke out at about 3am. Firefighters from the Sri Aman station were deployed after receiving a distress call at 3.02am.

The charred remains of the boy were later discovered on the upper floor after the flames were brought under control. A 64-year-old man suffered burns over 80 per cent of his body, while a woman sustained burns. The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
