In Hanoi, Vietnam, crowds gathered outside gold shops as early as 3 AM to celebrate the annual Day of the God of Wealth on Friday. Braving the cold and rain, they waited on Tran Nhan Tong Street for the shops to open at 6:30 AM, believing that buying gold on this day would bring prosperity.

Gold prices soared to $3,550 per tael (40g), but demand remained high. Tran Thi Kim from Vinh Phuc province said she buys gold only on this auspicious day, convinced it will bring good fortune to her family throughout the year.
