Anthony Loke Now Says DAP Will Remain a Multiracial Party

1 min read

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24, 2026DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke has reaffirmed that the party will remain multiracial and reject the stigma of being labeled a “Chinese party.” Speaking on The Tiger Show Podcast, Loke said DAP cannot turn back to focusing on one community alone, despite persistent perceptions. He highlighted that the party now includes Malay MPs such as Syahredzan Johan (Bangi) and Young Syefura Othman (Bentong), as well as representatives from Indian and Bumiputera communities in Sabah and Sarawak.

Loke, who is also Transport Minister, noted demographic changes in constituencies like Chennah and Seremban, where Malay voters now form the majority. He stressed that policies and services must benefit all Malaysians, citing inclusive initiatives such as online vehicle registration bidding and public transport improvements.

He acknowledged challenges in changing public perception, worsened by misinformation, but said DAP aims to build trust through sincere grassroots work.
