A deal to buy frozen Musang King durians ended badly when a China-based company lost millions of Ringgit. The scam emerged when the company’s manager filed a police report in Johor Bahru.

The scheme involved purchasing 3,840 cartons of frozen durians valued at RM2.6 million. The suspect, also a Chinese national, claimed to have an Approved Permit from a Malaysian company. 

On July 5, the full payment was made to a Malaysian account, but the shipment never arrived. Realising the scam, the manager reported it. The case is now under investigation for cheating and handling stolen property.
