Now, let’s compare this with the case of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak. He was guilty on all seven charges, including abuse of power, criminal breach of trust, and money laundering, in connection to RM42 million from SRC International. The court sentenced Najib to 12 years in jail for abuse of power, 10 years for each of the three criminal breach of trust counts, and 10 years for each of the three money laundering counts. The sentences will run concurrently, resulting in a 12-year prison term. Additionally, Najib was fined 210 million ringgit ($49 million). This marks the first corruption conviction for a Malaysian prime minister.
