Court Now Slaps RM30,000 Penalty on Petrol Station Owner for Supplying RON95 to Foreign Car

A petrol station owner was fined RM30,000 by the Selayang Sessions Court for selling RON95 petrol to a Thai-registered vehicle, violating supply control regulations.

The owner, holding a retail license for controlled goods, admitted guilt for selling 48.78 liters of fuel, contrary to Regulation 12A. The offense occurred at a Rawang, Selangor station on January 1. 

Prosecuted by Selangor’s Deputy Public Prosecutor, Siti Fatimah Hannah Abd Wahab, and KPDN Prosecutor, Nor Wahidah Muhammad, Naziruddin was represented by lawyer Muhammad Syahmi Akif Jamili. The charge, under Regulation 21(1), carries penalties of up to RM1 million or three years’ imprisonment.
