A shopper’s complaint about alleged rude treatment at Lotus’s Seri Iskandar has gone viral, after the customer claimed they were scolded and dismissed while attempting to change a television purchase. The individual said they initially selected a Philips TV priced at RM1,200 before opting to switch to a Samsung model after comparing display quality.

Retail Service Dispute at Lotus’s Outlet Draws Mixed Reactions Online

According to the post, the customer requested to change the item before completing payment, but was told by staff that exchanges were not allowed. The situation escalated when the shopper approached another counter, allegedly prompting a staff member to raise their voice and question who the actual buyer was. The experience left the customer feeling embarrassed and confused over store policies.

In response, Lotus’s Malaysia clarified that the preferred model was out of stock and only a display unit remained, which could not be sold as a new item. The retailer apologised for the misunderstanding but maintained that limitations prevented the switch. Online reactions were divided, with some criticising the staff’s tone while others argued the situation may have stemmed from miscommunication.
