PUTRAJAYA, June 20, 2025 – Na’imah Abdul Khalid, widow of former finance minister Daim Zainuddin, has called on the Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC) to investigate the police’s failure to act on her nine-month-old complaint against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. She alleges Anwar abused his power by directing the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to probe Daim and others, as reported by Bloomberg last September. Despite follow-ups, no investigation officer has been assigned. Na’imah criticized MACC chief Azam Baki, questioning his courage for targeting only former or deceased officials, unlike past officers who probed serving leaders.
