Demand for SIRIM Services Surges 48% as Malaysian Firms Target Higher-Value Markets

Demand for SIRIM Bhd’s testing, certification, calibration and training services jumped 48% year-on-year, significantly above the 7% growth recorded the previous year.

SIRIM said it served 28,700 customers during the year, while its training programmes reached almost 25,000 industry personnel, including more than 23,000 Bumiputera entrepreneurs and workers. Its order book also more than doubled to RM28 million from RM12.1 million.

SIRIM Sees Stronger Demand as Companies Chase Global Standards

SIRIM president and group CEO Nik Sazali Nik Hussin said the stronger demand reflects growing pressure on Malaysian companies to demonstrate compliance with standards required to enter domestic and international markets.

He said SIRIM is automating and digitalising processes to reduce waiting times and help companies bring products to market faster. 

SIRIM is expanding capabilities across ESG reporting, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, semiconductors, medical devices and aerospace.

The organisation also received RM474.39 million in development funding across national programmes, including RM300 million under the NIMP Industrial Development Fund. It reported reducing processing times by up to 98% in selected testing areas during 2025, while customer satisfaction remained above 90%.
