Elderly Man to Face Murder Charges After Johor Restaurant Shooting

OHOR BAHRU – A 71-year-old man accused of fatally shooting three people at a restaurant in Kota Tinggi will be charged with murder on April 27. Johor police chief Ab Rahaman Arsad confirmed approval has been obtained to prosecute the suspect under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Murder Charges

Investigations revealed the man fired six shots with a semi-automatic shotgun, killing a 37-year-old Vietnamese woman and two local men aged 61 and 63. The incident, believed linked to a RM50,000 debt, occurred on April 19. The suspect, who holds a decades-old firearm licence, was arrested near the scene.
