KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian police have dismantled a scam syndicate running online love scams targeting Singaporean men, arresting 58 suspects in Kelantan on April 23. Investigations revealed the group operated from a rented resort, posing as Indonesian women to lure victims, with three supervisors overseeing the call centre.
Cannabis Seizure
In a separate case, Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) arrested a 25-year-old Portuguese man on April 14 after police K-9 officers detected drugs in his luggage at Changi Airport. Authorities found 68 packets containing about 36.3kg of cannabis. Both cases highlight ongoing regional efforts against fraud and drug trafficking.
