Elon Musk Ridiculed After Backing Down on “Free Speech” for X by Potentially Implementing Penalties for “Negativity”

1 min read

Elon Musk announced an algorithm tweak on X to reduce negativity and promote informational and entertaining content. Despite his free-speech stance, some users accused him of hypocrisy. The new algorithm aims to maximize unregretted user-seconds.

Additionally, his opinions regarding certain issues have riled up several social media uses. Some even claim that hate speech is actually on the rise in lieu of him promoting certain ideologies online.

X users calling Elon Musk “cry baby”

Several users noted the irony, stating that Musk claims to protect free speech yet gets upset when mocked. Consequently, these users mock him on his own platform.

Another user mentioned Musk’s past behavior of liking explicit content and making it private. They argue that now, as he’s criticized, he plans to restrict speech. The user called him a “crybaby.”

Others talked about Musk’s skewed perception of free speech. They feel he is a form of a dictator, feeling that only certain types of speeches are deserving to be “free.” An X user says those making Islamaphobic comments would most likely not be penalised under his new penalty system.

Following that, users called out Musk’s support of a man who was allegedly jailed for a social media post. However, the man also allegedly had a copy of Hitler’s Mein Kampf and encouraged people to attack mosques.

Some reports state that even President Trump is “fed up” with Musk’s alleged clinginess towards him. Claims that UK politicians are informing Trump to ditch Musk.
