A father allegedly sold his daughter to an illegal moneylender (Ah Long) syndicate to clear a debt of over RM9,000. The 21-year-old woman began receiving calls from unknown men requesting sexual services.

Father Allegedly Sold Estranged Daughter to Ah Long Syndicate

Her stepfather, Lai, revealed that his wife’s ex-husband took a loan and listed them as guarantors. The syndicate threatened their safety. Another victim, Lan, faced harassment over his daughter’s unpaid loans.

MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau received 42 Ah Long-related complaints this year, involving RM1.3 million. Fearing for their safety, both families lodged police reports.
