Foreign Traders Now Thwarted: Local Authorities Crack Down on Selayang Markets

The hustle of foreign traders has reportedly diminished in Selayang Wholesale Market and Selayang Daily Market today after being targeted by local authorities (PBT) last week. Chicken trader Badrul Hisham Yatim, 64, revealed that the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) conducted operations at both markets, often crowded with foreign traders, including those operating street stalls last Friday.

Foreign traders thwarted 

He noted a reduction in their presence today, attributing it to the surprise operation by MPS, which seized all belongings of these traders. The traders typically conduct business on the market’s periphery, causing traffic disruptions and sanitation issues. The move aimed to address the unhygienic practices of these traders who operate street stalls.
