A 59‑year‑old woman was arrested in Tumpat, Kelantan, on May 4 for misusing subsidised petrol under the BUDI95 programme. Deputy Director Aswadi Jaafar of KPDN Kelantan said she was detained during Ops Tiris 4.0 at 7:05 AM, after officers observed her refueling multiple times.
RM5,000 Seized in BUDI95 Subsidy Abuse Case
Her Perodua Kenari was found modified with a custom tank storing 50 litres of petrol. The seizure, including the vehicle and fuel, was valued at RM5,000. The case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961. Authorities issued stern warnings against subsidy misuse, especially in border areas.
