Jihan, a 39-year-old single mother, claims her ex-boyfriend, a Langkawi-based civil servant, physically assaulted her after she stopped giving him money. Jihan alleges she was deceived into spending over RM300,000 on luxury items for him, including a BMW and a jet ski, after he promised to marry her. Their relationship turned abusive last year, culminating in a violent incident in October where she was strangled and punched. He also allegedly threatened her with a knife and sent menacing WhatsApp messages. Fearing for her safety, Jihan lodged a police report last week. Langkawi police confirmed receiving the complaint.
