Green Tide? Are you sure about that, suggests Lim Kit Siang

The veteran politician from the DAP today states the so called ‘green tide’ might just be a fad and not a realistic political outcome. Lim Kit Siang then adds that he did not believe that the communists would take over Malaysia back in the 1950s, and he sees the same with PAS.

Lim Kit Siang then quoted Datuk Masidi Manjun, the secretary general for Gerakan Rakyat Sabah stating that many in Peninsular Malaysia forget that Sabah Sarawak holds a different set of values. They hold a strong multi-racial and multi-religious background in Borneo.

Datuk Masidi Manjun stated, “Many tend to forget that many Sabahans as well as Sarawakians have family members of different religious faiths. It’s difficult for GRS or for that matter many Sabahans, to accept what is now marketed as ‘political Islam’.”

Lim Kit Siang then added that Perikatan Nasional won more seats than they would have due to Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional competing against them. PN won certain seats with a minority vote, when combined with PH and BN they would win big instead.

Examples of this are, in Pagoh, Johor, PN won two seats with Muhyiddin Yassin winning 24,986 votes and if PKR and UMNO were a united party, they would’ve won 29,405 where PKR had 14,979 and UMNO had 14,426 votes.
