PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang attributed the decline in Malay-Muslim votes to UMDAP’s efforts to sanitize DAP and its allies. Reiterating DAP’s anti-Islam stance, Hadi cited its secular agenda and open opposition to Islamic sharia enforcement, despite it applying only to Muslims. Referencing Surah al-Mumtahanah, verses 8-9, he noted PAS previously allied with DAP and PKR but ended it, as DAP’s anti-Islam position bars it from federal governance. Hadi emphasized PAS rejects cooperation with non-Muslims solely for power, prioritizing Islamic principles over political gains, and warned against alliances that undermine Islam’s authority.
