PETALING JAYA, Sept 30, 2026, The haze situation worsened nationwide with 33 areas recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 8am Wednesday, up from 31 the previous day. Johan Setia in Selangor posted the highest reading at 176, followed by Cheras (173), Nilai (171) and Shah Alam (170).
Haze Worsens
Other affected areas included Pasir Gudang (169), Putrajaya (165), Seremban (164), Klang (163), Kuantan (163), Petaling Jaya (161) and Banting (160). Meanwhile, 33 areas recorded moderate air quality, while Limbang and ILP Miri in Sarawak registered good readings of 42 and 31 respectively. API data is updated hourly from 68 monitoring stations nationwide.
