A viral post by Hakim H on X (formerly Twitter) has resonated with many Malaysians, calling for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) to address arbitrary hotel check-in and check-out times.

Hakim criticised the practice of delayed check-ins and expedited check-outs, suggesting a boycott of such hotels. His post received over 369,000 views and 2,300 likes, with many agreeing. 

Commenters highlighted unreasonable excuses from hotel operators and called for standardised check-in (2pm) and check-out (12pm) times. Some even suggested creating a list of hotels with unfair policies to facilitate boycotts.
