Illegal Bird Keeping: RM40,000 Seizure by PGA in Bachok

The General Operations Force (PGA) seized three types of birds worth nearly RM40,000 in Kampung Dusun Durian, Tawang, Bachok. PGA Southeast Brigade Commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Ab Hamid stated the operation involved the 7th PGA Battalion and the Department of Wildlife Protection and National Parks (Perhilitan).

They found 11 White-rumped Shama, one Luris Neck, and seven Common Iora without proper documents. A 25-year-old woman was arrested. The case is under investigation under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 (Act 716). The suspect and confiscated birds were taken to Bachok District Police Headquarters.
