Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the outcome of the 16th Johor state election will not affect his position as Prime Minister. Speaking at the Kita Geng Madani Anak Muda Bukit Batu programme in Kulai, Anwar urged political leaders to be more responsible in their remarks and avoid turning the election into a platform for hostility.

He stressed that his visit to Johor was to continue delivering development and assistance through the Federal Government, not to provoke political conflict. Anwar also said substantial federal allocations had been channelled to Johor and hoped development efforts would not be politicised during the campaign.
