Yesterday we talked about how Dato Siti NurHaliza accidentally tore a Jovian mask’s strings. However, the founder of Jovian, Dato Jovian Mandagie recently stated that the ‘SIRIM’ certifications for masks are a good government initiative as face masks with ‘hauk’ quality [crappy quality] will be screened through better.
The whole irony of the situation happened where his own mask broke apart in front of him and Dato Siti. He clarified on his previous statement saying that he implied the ‘hauk’ quality masks directly to the fakes that are copying his specific designs. He did make a public apology on Instagram stating he hoped that he didn’t offend anyone too seriously.
Netizens on twitter took his ‘Hauk’ comments way too seriously and had made memes and funny statements about it. A user tweeted that a RM6 mask is more durable than the Jovian’s RM30 packs of masks. Other users mentioned that with the import and screening prices increasing for the masks that this is unfair for the general public.
