Former UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has officially submitted an appeal letter to return to UMNO, according to party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The submission was made during a meeting between the two leaders on the 26th night of Ramadan.
Appeal To Be Reviewed Under UMNO’s “Rumah Bangsa” Initiative
Ahmad Zahid said the appeal will be forwarded to the UMNO “Rumah Bangsa” committee, chaired by Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, for further evaluation and recommendation.
He described the move as part of efforts to reunite former party members and strengthen unity within UMNO, emphasising that reconciliation is more important than prolonged division.
Khairy, who was expelled from UMNO in 2023, had previously indicated his intention to return to the party as part of broader efforts to rebuild and consolidate its political strength.
