The largest-ever Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2023) was inaugurated during the Global Halal Summit (GHaS) 2023 by Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and hosted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).
MIHAS 2023, biggest Halal showcase in the world
MIHAS 2023 boasts close to 1,900 booths from 44 countries and anticipates 35,000 visitors, making it the world’s leading Halal showcase. The event, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), focuses on combating racial stereotypes by ceasing the release of arrest mug shots unless there’s a public threat, potentially making it the first department globally to do so.
Over its past 18 editions, MIHAS has generated RM21.66 billion in sales, contributing to its growth. MATRADE aims to achieve a sales target of RM2.5 billion in this year’s edition, focusing on collaboration with local companies, especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
The event encompasses 13 clusters, promotes international sourcing, and offers knowledge exchange through the Knowledge Hub. Additionally, it will feature the MIHAS Awards and sustainable programs. Durioo+, a streaming channel featuring Islamic values and virtues, will also be a part of MIHAS 2023.
