Two Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) assemblymen, Datuk Rubin Balang (Kemabong) and Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob (Sindumin), expressed relief after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) dismissed leaked videos linking them to a mining licence corruption scandal. The MACC stated that the videos were heavily edited and lacked credibility. Both politicians maintained their innocence, with Rubin emphasizing his trust in the MACC’s findings, stating that the investigation confirmed no wrongdoing on their part.
