Malaysia Ranked 3rd Best Country to Live in Globally

Malaysia has earned global recognition as one of the best countries to live in, ranking third in the Rumavi Global Relocation Index 2026. 

Scoring 72.0 out of 100, Malaysia was just behind Singapore (72.6) and Estonia (72.8), which claimed the top spot. 

The index evaluates 192 countries across 24 factors including affordability, healthcare, safety, political stability, infrastructure, and opportunities, aiming to measure where people can truly build a life rather than simply obtain a passport.

Malaysia’s strong showing reflects its balance of affordability, quality of life, and healthcare access, making it an attractive destination for both locals and expatriates. 

With emerging therapies for breast cancer and other healthcare advancements, the country’s medical infrastructure continues to strengthen, complementing its appeal as a place to live.

Other countries in the top 10 include Portugal, Taiwan, Lithuania, Hong Kong, St Kitts & Nevis, Czechia, and Malta. Rumavi noted that while data quality varies across nations, Malaysia’s ranking demonstrates consistent institutional strength and lifestyle appeal.

This achievement highlights Malaysia’s growing reputation as a hub for stability and opportunity, reinforcing its position among the world’s most desirable places to call home.
