Malaysia Expands SARA Cash Aid and Subsidy Schemes to Ease Living Costs

Malaysia has rolled out several federal initiatives to ease rising living costs and support households during economic transition. The Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme under STR provides direct cash aid to B40, M40, seniors, singles, and hardcore poor families, with payments reaching up to RM4,600 in 2025. 

Malaysia Expands SARA Cash Aid

The one‑off RM100 aid for all adults ends December 31, allowing purchases of essential goods at over 7,300 stores via MyKad. The Budi95 subsidy offers RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre for 16 million Malaysians. Additional programmes cover healthcare, housing, disability support, youth mobility, and child assistance.
