Malaysia aims to attract 500,000 UK tourists for Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced. Citing a strong rise in UK arrivals in early 2024, he expressed confidence the target can be met.

He praised Tourism Malaysia’s efforts in London and discussed introducing a special stopover package via Malaysia Airlines to boost visitor numbers. In 2024, over 390,000 UK tourists generated RM2.5 billion in revenue. Zahid also highlighted the approval of 103 new international routes and increased flight frequencies as part of Malaysia’s preparation to welcome more global travellers.
