Man Faces RM1 Million Fine Over Diesel

A jobless man claimed trial at the sessions court for unlawful possession of 3,000 litres of subsidised diesel. He was charged under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act after authorities discovered the fuel in his lorry near SK Marian Convent, Jalan Air Jernih, on April 24. 

Judge Grants Bail in Diesel Trial

If convicted, he may face a fine of up to RM1 million, three years in jail, or both. Judge Mazuliana Abdul Rashid granted bail of RM30,000 with one surety and fixed June 2 for case management. Saravanan was unrepresented, while ministry prosecutors K Selvaraju and Izzat Ariff appeared for the prosecution.
