While it closely resembles an ordinary, pre-facelift G70 model with smaller 20-inch wheels, closer inspection reveals unusually thick windscreen and window frames alongside plump tires. This in-house fortified vehicle is specially built to resist both gunfire and explosions.

But JPN now says the BMW vehicle is an existing government asset rather than a newly purchased official car. According to statements from the Prime Minister’s Department and the Conference Secretariat and International Relations Division, the vehicle is an asset managed by BIUPA intended for state official logistics. It is designated to meet international safety and protocol standards for visiting foreign heads of state and heads of government.
