A 26-year-old man, Zulfiqar Zamir Amirul Nizam, is battling for his life after being struck by a suspected drunk driver travelling against traffic in Klang, Selangor, on May 13. Zulfiqar, who worked multiple jobs to save for his upcoming wedding, was riding his motorcycle when a speeding car allegedly drove 3.5km against the flow of traffic before crashing into him.

His mother, Hamidah, told the New Straits Times her son “did nothing wrong” and demanded justice. Zulfiqar, engaged and planning a December wedding in Pasir Gudang, had been completing a delivery when the accident occurred. Police investigations continue.
