PETALING JAYA: Former MCA vice-president Ti Lian Ker has urged Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming to provide an update on the RM4 million allocated for four “smart toilets” in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, announced last November. Ti criticized the “BMW-i” (Bersih, Menawan, Wangi) toilets, featuring automatic bidets and floor cleaners, as extravagant amid rising living costs. “We don’t need no BMW-class toilets. We need functional and easy to maintain toilets,” he said. Ti suggested redirecting funds to low-cost housing, highlighting public priorities and referencing scrutiny over Nga’s MyKiosk project.
