KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 — The High Court today allowed the application of Asnida Abdul Daim, daughter of the late Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin, to obtain a permanent international passport. Judge Nurulhuda Nur’Aini Mohamad Nor ruled in favor after hearing arguments from Deputy Public Prosecutor Nidzuwan Abd Latip and lawyer Rajesh Nagarajan.

The prosecution opposed, citing flight risk due to her frequent overseas travel and past absence from MACC questioning. Rajesh countered that business travel does not imply risk, noting she remained in Malaysia since surrendering her passport. On April 7, Asnida pleaded not guilty to failing to declare shareholdings under Section 36(1)(b) of the MACC Act 2009.
