MOH Acts Against Staff Caught Smoking in Rawang

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has taken disciplinary action against a staff member after a viral clip showed the individual smoking at a restaurant in Rawang, Selangor. MOH clarified that civil servants are not exempt from the smoking ban under the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024.

Investigations confirmed the offender worked at the Gombak District Health Office. The Ministry issued a compound notice and will enforce internal disciplinary measures. MOH stressed it will not compromise on compliance, reaffirming its commitment to protect the public from cigarette smoke through firm and consistent enforcement.
