Murder Investigation of Disabled Woman in Kuala Kangsar

Kuala Kangsar – Sept 25, 2026. On Wednesday, September 23, a 49-year-old disabled (OKU) woman, Nor Ainon Omar, was found dead with fatal stab wounds at her residence in Kampung Cheh Hilir, Kati, Kuala Kangsar. The victim lived in the village house with her husband and three children, all of whom are also registered with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) as persons with disabilities.

Key Details of the Incident

• The Attack: Before losing consciousness in the living room while shelling anchovies, the victim informed her husband that her leg had been poked with a sharp object through the wooden floorboards from underneath the house.
• Discovery: Her husband, who was cooking in the kitchen at the time, sought help from a nearby rubber tapper. Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) Chairman Nur Halim Abdul Hamid was alerted around 2:00 PM and arrived to find the victim unconscious in a pool of blood.
• Police Report: Kuala Kangsar District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Heisham Harun confirmed receiving a report at 2:38 PM. Initial investigations indicate the motive stemmed from a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspects.

Suspects and Legal Proceedings

• Arrests and Remand: Police arrested two male family members aged 15 and 44. On Thursday, Magistrate Azlin Zeti Zainal Abidin issued a seven-day remand order for the 44-year-old suspect and a two-day remand order for the 15-year-old suspect to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
• Evidence Recovered: After villagers located the 15-year-old son in a nearby oil palm plantation, he led police to the recovery of a knife suspected to be the weapon used in the incident.
• Welfare Care: The victim’s two other children have been placed under the care of JKM for further action.

• Aggressive Trait: Badariah and Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) Chairman Noor Halim Abdul Hamid noted that the 15-year-old son—who has a learning disability and is hyperactive—frequently exhibited aggressive behavior toward his mother and siblings.
• Past Incidents: According to Badariah, the teenager did not address his mother as “mother,” instead calling her by her name and referring to her as “kamu.” Noor Halim added that the teenager had previously caused a burn injury to his older sister.
