Malaysians are rather sensitive when it comes to money. Most would prefer to be quiet about their wealth as they see it as inappropriate to show off money. However, it seems netizens are now angry at a man who is apparently “humble bragging” by showing off the amount of money he is donating to charities.

Netizens are also upset at the fact that the man was recording himself reciting while showing off the money that is to be donated. X users claim that he is just simply doing this to look more pious while bragging at the same time.
Others joked that there are reasons why people do not show off their wealth directly on social media. They claim that it may cause others to be jealous and subsequently cause harm to you. Regardless, it is commendable what the individual did, which is to donate his wealth, but at the same time, there are better ways in communicating that donation.
