Restaurant operators face scrutiny for overpricing rice, with a plate costing 300% more than its production cost. Datuk Azman Mahmood highlighted the discrepancy, urging restraint in pricing. He emphasized that white rice costs only 38 sen per plate to produce, cautioning against exploitation. Taking into account that a 10kg pack of white rice retails at RM38, restaurant operators could easily serve up to 100 plates of rice to its patrons, he added.
